Riku leads the digital practice for Ogilvy Africa. His role includes digital communication, transformation, customer engagement & commerce. Having studied M.Sc. Economics, he’s spent over 15 years in digital marketing across Asia, Europe and Africa. During his career, he has led digital transformation, strategy and social media teams in J. Walter Thompson, R/GA, TBWA and was the Country manager for MySpace. He has worked with global and regional clients across over 50 markets. Those clients include Airtel, Google, Netflix, Nike, Coca-Cola, Unilever and HSBC. His work has been awarded with multiple Grand Prix and Gold Effies and other industry accolades. Riku has written two critically acclaimed books about digital marketing and is advising two start-ups: Vapaus & Healthzilla. He spends his free time with analog hobbies: listening and collecting vinyl records, lifting heavy weights and reading physical books.
